Earthstones Granite Company is owned and operated by Marty and Jan Janczak, and their eldest son, Michael. Earthstones' mission is to provide top quality natural stone products on-time, every time, at a competitive price while exceeding our customer's expectations.

The Janczaks have a strong background together totaling more than 50 years in construction and small business. Once the decision was made to open a new business in Temple, Marty began researching for the right location and the best equipment. Both he and Jan then searched for qualified staff and Earthstones was created in 1999. With Jan's minor in college as color and interior design, it was a dream come true for her when she and Marty developed Earthstones Granite Company together.

Starting as a small "Mom & Pop" operation in April 2000, Earthstones now employees fifteen people. The business primarily serves clients in the high-end and mid-range residential market surrounding Temple in a 90-mile radius, covering Crawford to College Station to Austin. The staff plays an important role in educating the clients about all types of natural stone as well as engineered stone products.

In 2005, Michael joined Earthstones Granite Company and has been transitioning the business into the next generation of computerized automation of granite fabrication. He also helped collaborate the remodeling of the production area as well as the showroom and offices.

While it has always been so, early in 2006, Earthstones was officially certified by the State of Texas as a "Woman Owned Business." This recognition applies particularly to the commercial line of business with work completed in a convention center, municipal police station, several hotels, and other commercial entities. Also in 2006, Earthstones Granite Company was honored with a visit by First Lady Laura Bush and was privileged to provide natural stone to the Bush Ranch in Crawford.

Earthstones is a "traditionalist" company when it comes to products. Natural stone, whether it be granite, marble, or travertine, is an original piece of art. When Jan goes to select stone for a client, it is like going to an art gallery. A satisfied client stated, "When I saw the natural stones and realized that no two pieces would be exactly the same, there was no question I would choose stone. If I could hang it (the stones) on the wall, I would."

Engineered stone, also known as quartz, has a place in Earthstones' business plan. These man-made products are designed to emulate the colors and textures of natural stone, but with a consistency and quality control of a factory manufactured product. Every client is offered choices of engineered stone for their individual application at Earthstones. Choice is certainly determined by the client.

Earthstones Granite Company believes in creating an environment that reflects the personality, emotions, and values of their clients, not just designing a space. The staff at Earthstones understands and responds to the specific needs of the customers. Helping clients to express their interests and values can be the most challenging part of the job, but it is an essential part of creating a home that is true to the client. Once an area is complete, with beautiful granite, quartz, or marble, and reflects the personalities and tastes of the client, it is very rewarding for all.
